Basic Information

Dr. Hong Minghui obtained his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore in 2000 and has served in various capacities at the Singapore Technology Agency and the National University of Singapore. He has held positions such as Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Director of the Center for Frontier Research and Technological Innovation, and Director of the Center for Optics and Photonics Engineering at the National University of Singapore. He is an esteemed academician of the Singapore Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Optical Society of America, a Fellow of the International Society for Optics and Photonics, a Fellow of the International Society for Photonics and Laser Engineering, and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Singapore. He is a renowned scholar and a leading figure in the field of laser optics and was appointed as one of the first "Nanchang Investment Consultants" in 2021.


Main Research Directions

His primary research interests lie in the field of laser micro-nano processing and detection technology. He has conducted internationally leading research in areas such as laser micro-manufacturing, laser cleaning, laser welding, and optical detection. To date, he has published over 500 papers in top international academic journals, including Nature, Nature Nanotechnology, Science Advances, and Nature Communications. He has co-authored 15 academic monographs and holds 42 patents in China, Singapore, the United States, and Germany. He serves as the Executive Editor of Opto-Electronic Advances, Opto-Electronic Science, and Optoelectronics Engineering, Deputy Editor of the Journal of Central South University (English Edition), Consultant for the Science journal Ultrafast Science, and Editorial Board Member for Nature journal Light: Science & Applications, Engineering published by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Science China: Physics Mechanics Astronomy, Physics, and Laser Micro/nanoengineering.
